The MCTO bus route 10A stops on Washington Avenue, which is a block to the south.

There are parking meters on 2nd Street behind the Supercomputer Center. The following lots are also available:

Places to Eat around WBOB

  • University of Minnesota Dining Services 1300 South Cafe (first floor of WBOB). Hot entree items, grilled sandwiches, and a salad bar. It also offers pre-packaged sandwiches and salads, dessert items, bagels, and coffee.
  • Grumpy's is a bar that serves food, with daily specials. It is a couple of blocks away from WBOB (within walking distance) on Washington Avenue and 11th Street. Good if you have an hour for lunch. Reasonable prices.
  • The Old Spaghetti Factory is about ten minutes away (within walking distance) on Washington Avenue and Park (across from the huge parking lot behind the old Milwaukee Road station). On-street parking, parking lot next door for $1 per car. Pasta; inexpensive.
  • Sawatdee bar and cafe is about 15 minutes away (within walking distance) on the corner of Washington Avenue and 4th Street (across from the old Milwaukee Road station). On-street parking, with a few spaces in a small lot next to the building. Thai food, buffet or menu items; reasonable prices.

Also, the “Seven Corners” area is right across the Washington Avenue bridge, (over I-35W) about a five minute walk from WBOB. Town Hall Brewery, Sergeant Preston's, The Corner Bar, and Bullwinkle's are bar/grill establishments. Chipotle, Noodles, Jewel of India, and the Holiday Inn Hotel Restaurant are also in the area. Prices range from reasonable to expensive. There is a parking ramp attached to the Holiday Inn, or there are parking meters on the street.
