Welcome to Leadership & Talent Development
Leadership & Talent Development, a unit in the Office of Human Resources, partners with University of Minnesota leaders to build their capabilities to lead and engage their staff in the strategic mission of the University. We provide leaders with resources to:
- Create a positive, engaging, and productive culture.
Leaders will be able to take action that measurably enhances the commitment and dedication of faculty and staff plus the effectiveness of the work environment.
- Increase leadership effectiveness.
Leaders will be able to use data, science, and leading practices to select, prepare, and develop effective leaders, managers, and supervisors.
- Align talent with the mission.
Leaders will be able to hire and promote the right people, set clear expectations, evaluate performance and close gaps in key skills, as well as identify and retain faculty and staff with the potential to do more.
Leadership & Talent Development empowers leaders through providing strategic consulting services, assessments to meet a variety of needs, tools, and do-it yourself resources. Deans, Department Heads, and Leads can find solutions to support the five University leadership challenges of Results, Vision, Engagement, Collaboration, and Accountability.
