A non-renewal letter for a P&A position must include each of the following provisions:
- University job title and corresponding job code;
- Specific University of Minnesota college/campus/administrative unit and, if applicable, department/division for this position;
- Employee ID;
- Percent time of appointment;
- Appointment type;
- Appointment term;
- Actual end date of the appointment; if end date is not within the current appointment period, then note that extension of appointment is being provided but does not constitute a new appointment;
- Reference notice of non-renewal is in accordance with the University administrative policy Academic Staff Non-Renewal of Appointment;
- Indicate whether salary increase will occur if remaining appointment period crosses fiscal year;
- Referral to resources available within and outside the University (e.g. Employee Benefits, Employee Career Services, etc.);
- Refer to University policy Academic Staff Non-Renewal Program, if eligible;
- Describe any known reassignment of duties during notice period;
- Signature of responsible administrator;
- Copies distributed as appropriate.
