What's Inside

What it is

"Thank-a-Teacher" was launched in the Spring of 1998 to give students an easy way to show their appreciation for instructors - faculty or TAs - who have made a difference in their education. It's a simple idea: send a thank-you note to someone who has helped you.

How to do it

It's very easy. Fill out your note in the form below. You may choose to remain anonymous or have your name associated with your letter.

What happens

Letters are briefly screened and then printed. The note is then sent to your instructor in a letter explaining that someone--you!--have written a note on their behalf.

To hear back from students is more rare than you might think, and the impact that your short note can make is more powerful than you may imagine!

Thank a Teacher

To have your letter of appreciation and thanks sent to an instructor, please fill out the form below. You must include the instructor's name and it's helpful to us if you can supply the instructor's U of M ID, as well. A link to the staff directory is available below.

May we publish your comments? Yes, it's alright to publish my comments (e.g. in a book, on a poster, or on a Web site.) If you check this box, we will contact you before using your comments, so please include your name above. Thank you!

Important: Teachers will receive all letters only after the current semester's grades have been submitted.
