Selected Journals about Assessment and Evaluation
Despite concerns about its validity, Rate my Professors (RMP) appears here to stay. Among complaints often raised about RMP's methods are: bias selection of respondents, rewards for “easiness” of content, and a high proportion of extreme views. What about these claims? Do “RMPers” represent the student body as a whole? Are they predominantly ranters or ravers? Do they regard easy professors as better professors? A recent study by April Bleske-Rechek and Kelsey Michels published in the online journal Practical Assessment, Research & Evaluation (Volume 15, Number 5, May 2010) offers surprising findings.
