| I primarily serve in two programs at the Center for Teaching and Learning. First, I work with Preparing Future Faculty (PFF), a program for graduate and postdoctoral students to prepare for a teaching career in higher education. I teach both GRAD 8101, "Teaching in Higher Education," and GRAD 8102, "Practicum for Future Faculty." In the first course, students develop a repertoire of effective teaching methods and a teaching portfolio (curriculum vitae, syllabus, teaching philosophy, etc.). In the second course, students gain college/university teaching experience and develop essential academic career search strategies. Second, I am privileged to work with the Early Career Teaching Program. By pairing new faculty with experienced resource teachers, this program promotes effective teaching in a multicultural university and helps new faculty develop their full teaching potential. In addition to these programs, I consult with instructors and teaching assistants about specific teaching and learning concerns or issues. In concert with these endeavors, I have also enjoyed developing and facilitating customized workshops, retreats, and developing/teaching courses for both on-campus departments and educators in various higher educational institutions statewide. In concert with my work at the Center for Teaching and Learning, I have enjoyed teaching a variety of educational courses and conducting educational research projects in higher education for the past 22 years.
