Background

My background is in American literature, and my book White Slaves, African Masters (U of Chicago Press, 1999) explores the little-known Barbary captivity narrative. Two short non-academic pieces appear in Thus Spake the Corpse: An Exquisite Corpse Reader 1988-1998 (Ed. Andrei Codrescu, Black Sparrow Press, 1999). Previously at the University, I worked at the Digital Media Center and served as the instructional coordinator for the TA Web Certification Program.

I recently completed the Technology Enhanced Learning Certificate in Multimedia Design and Development.
