Supervisor's Listserv

This e-mail listserv for supervisors and managers provides updates and offers a forum for discussion of management issues.

The University of Minnesota offers development opportunities for supervisors and managers, at all stages of their careers.

Supervisory training courses are offered free of charge during the workday. Most sessions are held on the second floor of the Donhowe Building on the East Bank Campus. Registration is on a first come, first served basis.

The Keys to Supervision orientation program offers new supervisors and managers at the University of Minnesota the tools and resources they need to succeed.

Core Supervisory Skills Training

Core training is designed to help new and experienced supervisors review the basic skills needed for effective supervision.

Workshops, Lab Courses, and Programs

Lab courses are stand-alone sessions that address general supervisory skills. They are intended for both new and experienced supervisors.

Learn at Lunch programs provide an opportunity for supervisors to learn about important topics in an informal bag lunch setting.

Situational Leadership II

This course offers a proven method for effectively managing and developing people, time, and resources. It is designed to increase the frequency and quality of conversations between managers and staff so that competence is developed, commitment is gained, and talented individuals are retained.
