The core skills program is designed to help new and experienced supervisors review the basic skills needed for effective supervision. The program is highly interactive, with many opportunities for hands-on learning and group discussion. Participants are expected to register for the full series.
Sessions are facilitated by Human Resources experts from the University of Minnesota community.
Session topics include improving communication skills, appraising performance and managing differences.
The Supervisory Core is offered in two formats:
Both the seven-week and three-day formats cover the same material.
2008 Seven-Week SeriesThursdays, Sept. 11 - Oct. 23 (with the exception of week 5, which occurs on Friday). Classes are held from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. in 210 Donhowe (with the exception of 10/16 which begins at 8:30).
