Campuses:
You must be a University of Minnesota student currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program to hold a student job. There are two components to determining eligibility to hold a student job:
Students must meet the minimum credit requirements listed below in order to hold a student job on campus. University college credits apply toward the minimum only for the term in which they were initially registered. Credit requirements are as follows:
| Student Status | Fall and Spring | Summer Session | ||
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Regular | Work-Study | Regular | Work-Study | |
Undergraduate | 6 | 6 | 0* | 6 |
Graduate | 3 | 3 | 0* | 3 |
Non-Degree | 6 | N/A | 6 | N/A |
International undergraduate | 12 | N/A | 0* | N/A |
International graduate | 6 | N/A | 0* | N/A |
International Non-Degree | 12 | N/A | 12 | N/A |
*Students without Work-Study who are enrolled in degree-granting program, met the minimum credit requirement during spring semester, did not graduate, and intend to register for fall semester do not need to register for summer. Students who are graduating during the summer and/or are not registered for the fall must register for the minimum credit requirement in the summer.
Depending upon your student and registration status, there are certain dates before or after which you may not be able to be employed.
If you were not enrolled with the minimum number of credits in the previous term, the first date you may begin working in a term where you do meet the credit requirements is indicated in the "Employment Beginning Date" column.
If you are not enrolled with the minimum number of credits for the upcoming term you must end employment by the date indicated in the "Termination Date" column.
Students without Work-Study who are enrolled in degree-granting program, have met the minimum credit requirements during spring semester, have not graduated, and intend to register for fall semester, do not need to register for summer.
