Welcome to the University of Minnesota. As a University employee, you play a critical role in helping achieve the U of M's goal of becoming one of the top three public research institutions in the world.
New Employee Orientation (NEO) is your first step toward building a successful career at the U of M. NEO is a yearlong series of three main events and several training sessions that will provide you with the tools you need to become part of the University community.
Each of the three main events, which will happen during the first, seventh, and twelfth months of your first year at the U, will focus on a different topic. These events will highlight University culture, our values and goals, and our commitment to improving the world in which we live. In between these major programs you will complete a series of smaller training sessions.
Some of these training sessions are targeted to address the specific needs of different employee groups, while others are designed for all U of M employees. These trainings will help you get up to speed faster, be more productive in your work, and feel more a part of the University. We are excited that you have chosen to join us at the University of Minnesota.
