As a new employee, you and your dependents may be eligible to participate in the UPlan Health Program offered by the University of Minnesota. Basic benefits available under the program include medical and dental coverage and employee basic life insurance. Several optional benefits are also available.
If you choose to participate in the UPlan Health Program, you must enroll at Employee Self-Service within your first 60 days of employment.
Failure to enroll during the 60-day window means that you will not have health coverage under the program. You will not have an opportunity to elect medical and/or dental coverage for yourself and your dependents until the next open enrollment period. or if you and your dependents experience a loss of other health coverage due to an eligible family status change. Since you are not required to choose a medical or dental plan, you can elect to waive or not have either or both of the benefits.
