A total of 12,901 surveys were sent out to staff employees and 3,853 completed surveys were received for a response rate of 29.87%. The sample breakdowns on some main demographic categories are shown below.
The results of the descriptive analysis reveal that a majority of respondents are from the Twin Cities campus (89%), and representative of the three main job categories: civil service (41%), P&A Staff (32%) and bargaining unit (27%). The majority of the respondents are female (67%), white (87%), with a college degree (74%), and working full-time (90%). The average age of employees is a little over 44 years, and they work over 42 hours a week on average. The respondents have been employed at the University of Minnesota for an average of 12 years and have spent about 7? years in their current job.
