A total of 2,841 surveys were sent out to faculty and 575 completed surveys were received for a response rate of 20.24%.
The results of the descriptive analysis reveal that a majority of the sample was male (56%), white (84%), and from the Twin-Cities Campus (77%). The average age of the faculty respondents is over 49 years and the average length of time employed in higher education is about 17? years, with close to 14 years of employment at the University. Almost all (99%) faculty members have a graduate degree (e.g., Ph.D., M.D., J.D.) and are employed full-time (98%) with 56% on a 9-month appointment. Over 65% of the faculty are tenured and 44% of those are full professors. Approximately 56% of faculty perform supervisory roles but only 20% have an administrative appointment. Those with administrative appointments spend about 40% of their time on average in an administrative capacity such as director, department chair, dean, etc.
