Satisfaction with University and Department Characteristics

These graphs are based on responses to questions that assessed faculty's satisfaction with the University and their departments.

The results are mixed. A majority of faculty members report satisfaction with the prestige of the University (61%) and also the prestige of their department or unit (56%). Yet, a moderate percentage of faculty members also express their dissatisfaction on these criteria (18% with the University and 24% with the department/unit). Similarly, 64% of faculty members indicate their satisfaction with the geographic location but only 42% convey their satisfaction with the opportunities available for the spouse/partner. Finally, 48% of faculty reported satisfaction with leadership, 25% reported dissatisfaction with leadership, and 27% do not offer an opinion one way or the other.

Overall Job Satisfaction

Faculty were asked to select the face that best described how they typically feel as an indicator of their overall job satisfaction.

A majority of faculty across all four campuses and job classifications reported fairly high levels of job satisfaction. Crookston campus reported slightly lower than average levels of overall job satisfaction.
