Resetting Your Password

If you are trying to login and have forgotten your password, you can reset it by answering the secret question you selected when you first completed an application.

From the Login page, click on the "I forgot my password" link within the login box.

  • Enter your User Name. If you have forgotten your user name, please contact the University of Minnesota Human Resources Call Center at 612-625-2000.
  • Click on "Retrieve Secret Question". The question you selected the first time you completed an application will be asked.
  • Type the answer you provided on your application into the box provided. Remember that your answer is case-sensitive (i.e., "Answer" and "answer" are not the same).
  • Click on "Submit".

If you answered the question correctly, your password will be reset to be the same as your username. For example, if your username is "mylastname", your password is also now "mylastname".

  • Log in with your matching username and password.
  • As soon as you login, you will be asked to change your password to something other than your username. Make sure you select a new password that you can remember. You may want to write it down for your records.
