OHR Quick Links

The University of Minnesota has a wide variety of open positions, which require different application types. To ensure that you complete the correct application, we suggest you search for open positions first.

However, if you wish to complete an application before searching for open positions, please complete the application associated with the position(s) you intend to apply for:

  • Staff: Use this application to apply for most staff positions.
  • Student: Use this application to apply for undergraduate, graduate and professional student positions.
  • Faculty/Academic: Use this application to apply for instructional, research and administrative positions.

Setting Up Your Username and Password

The first time you complete an application, you will be asked to create a username and password.

Please be sure to select a username and password that you can easily remember. You will be asked to enter them each time you access the system, so you may want to write them down for your records.

Your username and password are case-sensitive (i.e., "Username" is not the same as "username").

After setting up your username and password, you will be taken through a series of screens asking different information, depending on the type of application you have selected:

Creating Your Password Retrieval Question and Answer

In the event that you forget your password, you can answer a question that you previously created in order to reset your password.

Type a question you can easily remember the answer to, such as:

  • What is your favorite color?
  • What is your pet's name?
  • What city were you born in?
  • What is your mother's maiden name?

Provide your answer in the box indicated. Make sure you provide an answer that you can remember.

For example, if you enter the question "What city was I born in?", your answer might be "St. Paul". If you ask "What is my favorite food?", your answer could be "pizza".

Your answer is case-sensitive (i.e., "Answer" is not the same as "answer").
