New Employee

As a newly hired employee, your basic employee medical, dental, and life insurance coverage will become effective on the first day of the month following your first day of employment. You can determine the effective date of your basic benefits by using the chart below.

Newly Eligible Employee

As a current employee who becomes eligible for coverage as the result of an appointment change, your basic employee medical, dental, and life insurance coverage will become effective on the first day of the month following the date of the eligible change. If your newly eligible appointment begins on the first day of the month, then your coverage becomes effective on the same day.

You can use the "Coverage Effective Date" column below that lists the monthly beginning dates to determine the effective date of your basic benefits.
