Employees (including those on temporary appointments) who are employed in one department on a 50% time or greater appointment shall accumulate sick leave with pay at the rate of three minutes per straight time hour paid to a maximum of eighty hours per pay period.
When an AFSCME employee changes to another AFSCME job, or Civil Service or Teamsters job with no break in service, unused sick leave moves with the employee to the new job. Unused sick leave is not transferable when an AFSCME employee changes to an academic job.
For all job classes, unused sick leave is not paid out when an employee leaves the University.
