University's Military Leave Policies

When called for active military duty or training, you may need information on the following:

  • How do I request a military leave?
  • Is my military leave a paid leave?
  • Will I be able to return to my job?
  • Will my family have benefit coverage while I am away?

Benefits

When called for active military duty or training, certain benefits do continue while on military leave. However, the continuation of benefits differs between the paid and unpaid portions of military leave.

TRICARE is the Department of Defense health care program for active duty and retired members of the uniformed services, their families, and survivors. Employees called for active duty are immediately covered by TRICARE.
