NTS > QIP to Infoblox Cutover QIP to Infoblox CutoverOn Thursday, January 31, OIT will cut over its IP management application from QIP to an Infoblox appliance-based solution, which will use the Service Gateway as the user interface.
QIP FreezeEffective immediately there is a freeze to the QIP interface to allow for migration of DNS data into Infoblox. The freeze process, which began on January 25th and will end by February 3rd, will ensure that all changes made through the QIP interface in these days immediately before the cutover will be reflected in the new Infoblox system. During the freeze, customer will not have access to QIP. If there is an emergency change that cannot wait until after the freeze, send a request to NTS by using the DNS request services form. Changes requested this way will be madeby the TAC within 2 hours during business hours. After the Cut...When the cutover is complete, OIT will send an email to current QIP users and to Net-Ops, saying that the cut is completed. We ask that over the next 48 hours after the cut, current QIP administrators test their access in Service Gateway to make sure that you can get in and see all of your work groups and the networks and domains that you need to have access to. If you do not have access tocertain things, send a request to the TAC by using the DNS request services form. Please note that DHCP registration and the Anycast DNS servicesare not changing as a result of this cutover. All current registrations will be imported into Infoblox. We have been using Infoblox in Resnet since fall and have gained experience in its operation and reliability, so we do not anticipate any problems with this cutover. A set of FAQs will be available on this site later in the week, offering more information about Infoblox and this cutover process.
