Practical NMR Workshop

Learn to do nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) on state-of-the-art instrumentation in the Biomedical NMR Facility. During this workshop you will learn useful techniques and experiments on Varian Inova 500 MHz and 600 MHz spectrometers. Whether you are considering NMR as a research tool in your lab or just world like to learn more about NMR, this workshop addresses practical aspects of experimental NMR and provide valuable hands-on experience.

Bioc 4225 - Laboratory in NMR Techniques

Practical aspects of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometry. Hands-on experience with a 500/600 MHz instrument. Sample preparation/handling, contamination sources, tube/probe options, experiment selection, experimental procedures, software, and data processing. This course is similar in content to the NMR workshop but is offered as a undergraduate lab course for one credit. The class is typically 4-5 days from 9am to 5pm sometime in May.

Bioc 5225 - Graduate Laboratory in NMR Techniques

Practical aspects of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrometry. Hands-on experience with a 500/600 MHz instrument. Sample preparation/handling, contamination sources, tube/probe options, experiment selection, experimental procedures, software, and data processing. This course is similar in content to the NMR workshop but is offered as a graduate lab course for one credit. The class is typically 4-5 days from 9am to 5pm sometime in March.

Bioc 5527 - Introduction to Modern Structural Biology

Methods employed in modern structural biology to elucidate macromolecular structures. Primary focus on x-ray diffraction, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy and mass spectroscopy. Principles underlying structural biology and structure/function relationships.
