U of M Moment: Growing wine in cold climates
A new $2.5 million grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture will help the wine industry in the Upper Midwest and Northeast take the next steps toward economic vitality.
Jim Luby, a U of M professor of horticultural science, will be part of the effort and says there are a range of obstacles to be tackled.
Luby is optimistic about the impact this project will have on wine growers in the region.
