U of M entomologist Marla Spivak is a world-renowned expert on the subject of bees and beekeeping, and was awarded a MacArthur “Genius Grant" last year. She says recent reports that honeybee populations are in decline are accurate.
While there is no one explanation for honeybee colony population collapse, says Spivak, her research has identified a number of contributing factors.
