U of M Moment - Gopher Ranger program connects students with Mississippi

March 25, 2010

Did you know that a large portion of the University of Minnesota’s Twin Cities campus is actually part of a national park, the Mississippi National River and Recreation Area? Pat Nunnally, in the U’s Institute on the Environment, coordinates the National Park Service’s “Gopher Ranger” program, which is designed to familiarize and engage U of M students with the natural beauty that sits in their backyard.

Nunnally says that Gopher Ranger offers opportunities for every U of M student, regardless of their area of study.
