Spend New Year's Eve with the Gophers
From eNews, December 16, 2004
The University of Minnesota Alumni Association is sponsoring the official bowl tour for Gopher fans and is working with Creative Charters to offer air, hotel, and activity packages. The Gophers will face the Alabama Crimson Tide on Friday, December 31, at 11 a.m. (CST) in the Gaylord Hotels Music City Bowl presented by Bridgestone at The Coliseum in Nashville. Two-night and three-night packages are available, starting at $599 per person. (Game tickets are sold separately, but you can get them when you buy your travel package.)
If you plan to travel on your own and want to ensure seating in the Minnesota section, you must buy your tickets through the Gopher Athletics Ticket Office: in person from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday; by phone at 612-624-8080 or 1-800-U-GOPHER; or online at gophersports.com. The game will also be televised nationally by ESPN.
This season will mark the third consecutive time the Golden Gophers have gone to a bowl game and the fifth in the past six years; both bowl records are unprecedented in school history.
The Music City Bowl debuted in 1998 and Minnesota will be its first repeat team. In 2002, the Gophers beat then-25th-ranked Arkansas 29-14 in Nashville. (Last year, the Gophers defeated Oregon 31-30 in the Sun Bowl.)
