Some Twin Cities Marathoners will be wearing "Run for the U" T-shirts on Sunday.
Running for the University
Published on September 29, 2004
This weekend, during the Twin Cities Marathon, a group of University advocates are going the distance to build support for the University. The group will run on Sunday, October 3, sporting T-shirts that encourage people to Vote for the U. Their effort is part of a larger University-wide Vote for the U campaign to raise awareness about how people can protect one of the state's greatest assets--the University of Minnesota. State financial support for the University has waned over the last few years, and the runners are one of the creative ways of encouraging Minnesotans to elect candidates who will support the University. The group is still looking for people to Run for the U this Sunday. If you are interested or you know somebody who may be interested, go to Run for the U.
