Nationally renowned U of M expert Dale Carpenter available to discuss U.S. Supreme Court rulings on gay marriage

The U.S. Supreme Court this morning is delivering its opinion on two landmark cases regarding the legal recognition of marriage between same-sex couples.
The following University of Minnesota expert is available to discuss the historic rulings on United States v. Windsor and Hollingsworth v. Perry:
Earl R. Larson Professor of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties Law
Carpenter is among the nation’s foremost experts in the areas of constitutional law, the First Amendment, and sexual orientation and the law.
Carpenter is the author of the critically-acclaimed 2012 book "Flagrant Conduct: The Story of Lawrence v. Texas," a landmark study of the 2003 U.S. Supreme Court decision that invalidated America's sodomy laws. The book was recently honored with the 2013 Lambda Literary Award for LGBT nonfiction.
