You may incorporate YouTube videos into your Moodle site by adding an html side-block, creating a webpage, using a label area and embedding the video into the forum posting or glossary entry.
WARNING: You need to test the videos that you want to embed (the same stands true for providing links to all outside online resources). U of M cannot be held responsible for non-working or malicious video files.
Add a video to a webpage in your Moodle site
Find the video on the YouTube server
Copy the code from the Embed area
Go to your Moodle site homepage and click the Turn Editing on button
Select Compose a web page from the Add a resource dropdown menu
Type a Name
Type a short Summary
In the Full text area, go to the html mode by clicking Toggle Html Source icon <>
Copy/paste the string of code for your video
Click the Save changes button
Add a video to a forum posting
Find the video on the YouTube server
Copy the code from the Embed area
Go to a forum in your Moodle site
Click the Start a new discussion topic button or on the Reply link, depending on where you want your posting to appear
On the new screen, typea Subject for your posting
In the Message area, go to html mode by clicking the Toggle Html Source icon <>
