Moodle and UThink blog - DRAFT index back to index

About

Moodle CMS offers its own build-in blog tool. Blogs in Moodle are user based, therefore each user has his/her own individual blog.

If you want to have an advanced class blog, you may integrate UThink blog instead. Some of the features include:

  • Access with an Internet ID or Guest ID
  • Opportunity to create multiple blogs, really as many blogs as anyone wants
  • Blog owners can easily add other authors to their blogs to create team blogs, class blogs, club blogs, etc
  • Comments on entries
  • Customizable look and feel

Live examples:

Step 1: Create a blog in UThink

Step 2: Link to your UThink blog from Moodle

To make navigation easier, add a link to the UThink blog to your Moodle site:

  • Login at http://blog.lib.umn.edu
  • Locate and copy the URL of your blog, e.g., http://blog.lib.umn.edu/moodle/classblog
  • Go to your Moodle site and add a link there:
    • Click Turn editing on button
    • Select Add a link to a file or website from Add a resource drop-down menu
    • Type Name
    • Paste the URL into the Location area
    • Click Save changes button

Step 3 (optional): Password-protect your UThink blog
