Moodle and Adobe Presenter
(formerly Breeze)

If you have used Adobe (Breeze) Presenter to convert your PowerPoint presentations, you will have three options depending on how you wish to display your presentations in Moodle.

Option 1:
Connect to UMConnect server and provide a link to the presentation from Moodle system

This option will provide the fastest loading time.

  1. Publish to UMConnect server (more info):
    • From the Adobe Presenter (Breeze) menu in PowerPoint, select Publish
    • Select UMConnect/Breeze 5 Server
    • Click on Publish and continue the publishing process. Make sure to click on Customize button and set "Allow public viewing" to Yes
  2. Locate and copy URL of your presentation
    • Go to: http://umconnect.umn.edu
    • Click the Content tab
    • Click on the title of your presentation
    • Copy the URL for Viewing
  3. Provide the URL to Moodle
    • Go to the course homepage in Moodle
    • Click Turn editing on button
    • Under the Add a Resource dropdown select Link to a file or web site
    • Type Name
    • Paste the URL of your Breeze presentation into the Location field
    • Click Save Changes

 

Option 2:
Load into Moodle

Note: Not recommended for big presentations

  1. Publish to the local computer
    • From the Adobe Presenter (Breeze) menu in PowerPoint, select Publish
    • Select My Computer
    • Check the box for Zip files
    • Click Publish button
  2. Add the presentation to your Moodle site
    • Go to site homepage in Moodle
    • Click Files and create new folder for your presentation
    • Go inside the folder and upload zipped presentation
    • Unzip the presentation within Moodle by clicking the Unzip link
  3. Provide a link on the course homepage
    • Go to the course homepage in Moodle
    • Click Turn editing on button
    • Under theAdd a Resource dropdown select Link to a file or web site
    • Type Name
    • Near Location field click Choose or Upload a file button
    • Locate folder with the presentation
    • Click Choose link near the index.htm file
    • Click Save Changes

 

Option 3:
Load as a SCORM package into Moodle

For presentations that include interactive quizzes

Adobe Presenter files can be imported into Moodle as SCORM Modules.  Once imported as a SCORM module, quiz results will appear in the Moodle gradebook.

  1. Choose SCORM settings
    • Go to Adobe Presenter/Breeze > Quiz manager > Reporting
    • Choose SCORM
    • Choose Report Quiz results
  2. Publish to the local computer
    • From the Adobe Presenter/Breeze menu in PowerPoint, select Publish
    • Select My Computer
    • Check the box for Zip files
    • Click Publish button
  3. Add the presentation to your Moodle site
    • Go to site homepage in Moodle
    • Go to Files and upload your zipped presentation
  4. Provide a link from the course homepage
    • Go to the course homepage in Moodle
    • Click Turn editing on button
    • Under the Add an Activity dropdown select Adding a new SCORM/AICC
    • Type Name
    • Click Choose or update a package button
    • Click Choose link near the zipped file
    • Click Save Changes
