About

Blogs in Moodle are user based, therefore each user has his/her own individual blog.
Moodle blog is a very simple tool which is best used for:

  • online journal for self-reflection
  • area for storing private notes and drafts

Note that it is not possible to comment on entries, and there is no such thing as a class blog.

If you want to have an area where students will communicate with their classmates only, you need to use a Forum tool instead (simply allow both discussions and replies there, and students will be able to post their entries and reply to each other).

In addition, UofM offers a stand-alone UThink blog tool which is far more advanced and may serve your teaching needs better.
