Dr. Tso met with several Center Participating Investigators during this visit. This event was co-sponsored by the Department of Food Science and Nutrition. March 17, 2004Kenny J. Simansky, Ph.D., Drezel University, Philadelphia, PA, presented a seminar entitled "A Role for Serotonergic 5-HT1B Receptors in the Inhibitory Control of Eating: A Possible Target for Novel AntiObesity Agents." This event is co-sponsored by the Minnesota Craniofacial Research Training Program. March 18, 2004Arline D. Salbe, Ph.D., Research Nutritionist, National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, Clinical Diabetes and Nutrition Section, Phoenix, Arizona, presented a seminar entitled "Determinants of Obesity: Studies in Pima Indian Children and Adults." Dr. Salbe met with Center Participating Investigators during this visit. This event was co-sponsored by the Center for Diabetes Research and is part of the City-wide Seminar Series. March 23, 2004Arline D. Salbe, Ph.D., Research Nutritionist, National Institutes of Health, National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases, Clinical Diabetes and Nutrition Section, Phoenix, Arizona, presented a seminar entitled "Why do people eat what they do? Assessing food intake, eating behavior, and taste preferences as risk factors for obesity." Dr. Salbe met with Center Participating Investigators during this visit. This event was co-sponsored by the Department of Food Science and Nutrition. May 3, 2004: Center-Wide RetreatThe Minnesota Obesity Center held its sixth annual center-wide retreat. Presentations focused on Environmental Interventions/Preventions and their impact on weight management. This event has increased in popularity over the years and will be held at the McNamara Alumni Center/Gateway. |
