The Minnesota Forage and Grassland Council is offering a $500 post-secondary
scholarship to be awarded in Spring 2003.
The purpose of the MFGC Member Scholarship Program is to provide scholarships
to those in the immediate family of MFGC members, who pursue an agriculture
related post-high school educational experience.
Application and Eligibility
- Applications must be submitted no later than March 1, 2003.
- Eligible candidates must be in their senior year of high school, and preferably already
accepted into, or have applied for, a post-secondary accredited educational
program providing a 4-year bachelor's degree, 2-year associate degree, or
technical certification, in an agriculture related discipline.
- Eligible candidates must be a member of the immediate family of a current
member of MFGC during both the year of application and the year of the award.
Applications will be reviewed by the Member Scholarship Program Committee,
who will recommend three finalists to the Board at the March Board of Directors
Meeting. The Board will then vote on the final award recipient.
Announcement and Recognition
The award recipient will be recognized in the Forage Update Newsletter, at
the annual Forage Conference, and in newspaper and media outlets in the local
area. If the winner is a high-school senior, MFGC will also provide an
official presenter to award the scholarship at the winner's spring
scholarship/awards program.
