SCHOLARSHIP

The Minnesota Forage and Grassland Council is offering a $500 post-secondary scholarship to be awarded in Spring 2003.

The purpose of the MFGC Member Scholarship Program is to provide scholarships to those in the immediate family of MFGC members, who pursue an agriculture related post-high school educational experience.

Application and Eligibility

- Applications must be submitted no later than March 1, 2003.

- Eligible candidates must be in their senior year of high school, and preferably already accepted into, or have applied for, a post-secondary accredited educational program providing a 4-year bachelor's degree, 2-year associate degree, or technical certification, in an agriculture related discipline.

- Eligible candidates must be a member of the immediate family of a current member of MFGC during both the year of application and the year of the award.

Applications will be reviewed by the Member Scholarship Program Committee, who will recommend three finalists to the Board at the March Board of Directors Meeting.  The Board will then vote on the final award recipient.

Announcement and Recognition

The award recipient will be recognized in the Forage Update Newsletter, at the annual Forage Conference, and in newspaper and media outlets in the local area.  If the winner is a high-school senior, MFGC will also provide an official presenter to award the scholarship at the winner's spring scholarship/awards program.

Request an application from the MFGC Office at (651) 436-3930, or by mail from the:  Minnesota Forage and Grassland Council, 411 Borlaug Hall, 1991 Buford Circle, St. Paul, MN  55108. An application form also follows.
