The Board of Directors is responsible for the operation of the Minnesota Forage and Grassland Council. The Board is composed of 12 members, four from the agribusiness sector (industry marketing or research, financial business, media, or consultation), four from the producer sector (cash hay, dairy, beef, sheep enterprises), and four from the public sector (employment by public agencies focusing on education, regulation, or research in forage crops). Each member serves a four-year term of office. Members of MFGC vote annually to elect one nominee from each sector.
The Board elects Officers each year to fill the positions of President, First Vice-President, Second Vice-President and appoints a Treasurer, Executive Secretary, and Assistant to the Executive Secretary.
