Hennepin County and the City of Minneapolis were honored with a Local Government Innovation Award from the Humphrey Institute. They were awarded for their joint work on the merger of the Minneapolis Public Library system and the Hennepin County Library system. The thoughtful planning and collaboration between the two entities has created one of the 10 largest county library systems in the country.
