These roses are no joke

Sven (pictured above), Ole, and Lena are three new roses developed by the U's Department of Horticultural Science. All three, resulting from crosses made in 1997, are "very low maintenance," says associate professor Stan Hokanson; they are cold hardy and can bloom repeatedly until early fall. The University of Minnesota, Morris Alumni Association has honored professor Julie Pelletier for outstanding contributions to undergraduate education.
