Ministry’s OVERALL FUNCTIONS

“Land Acquisition, Valuation and Transfer

Land Acquisition involves the identification of land for gazetting for purposes of transferring it to state land in terms of section 16B (4) of the Constitution Amendment Act No. 17 of the 14 September 2005.

Core functions of the section are as follows:-

Undertake land acquisition and land transfer.

•  Valuation and acquisition of farm equipment and material.

•  Valuation of farms and determination of rentals in line improvements and hectarages of the plots for cost recovery measures.

•  Review and develop a legal and regulatory framework for land acquisition in conjunction with the Ministry of Justice, Legal and Parliamentary Affairs.

•  Participate in the development and implementation of Bilateral Investment Protection Agreement (BIPA) policy in conjunction with Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

•  Compensation of fixed infrastructure to farmers whose land was acquired for resettlement purposes as well as resettled farmers affected by the implementation process.

•  Processing of Certificates of No Present Interest.

Ministry Profile

Mission Statement

To entrench a culture of good governance in both the public and private sectors with a view to eradicating corruption and enhancing economic development in Zimbabwe. In this Endeavour the Ministry of Anti-Corruption and Anti-Monopolies will direct, guide, co-odinate and supervise government machinery and all stakeholders in the fight against corruption in order to achieve effective implementation of anti-corruption policies

Vision

To lead in the building and consolidation of a strong, united, corrupt free, democratic, prosperous and sovereign nation assuring the well-being of all the people of Zimbabwe; towards the creation of a dignified Zimbabwe and to uphold the principles of honesty, integrity, national pride and self dedication of corruption.

The functions of the Ministry :-

•  Direct, guide and co-ordinate the work of the Anti-Corruption Commission in investigating instances of corruption wherever they occur and carrying out public awareness programs to prevent and combat corruption.

•  Institute anti-corruption measures to combat corruption in the public, private and civic sectors.

•  Study and analyse trends towards increased economic concentration with a view to investigating monopoly situations and the prevention of such situations, where they are contrary to the public interest.

•  Assess and analyse mergers and acquisitions, as well as collusive arrangements between competitors, which lead to monopolies or monopoly situations.â€? http://www.fightcorruption.gov.zw/
