Legislation concerning provision of legal aid to weaker sections of the society
The Supreme Court in the case of Hussainara Khatoon vs. Home Secretary, Bihar reported in All India Reporter 1979 Supreme Court 1369 held that free legal service to the indigent and poor accused is therefore implicit under Article 21 of the Constitution.
