Association of Judges


 

“Association of Judges of Republic of Armenia”, NGO was founded in April, 1997. All the judges of courts of Republic of Armenia of all instances are members of the Association. 

Association of Judges as an NGO pursues its goals: 

    1. To support the establishment and fostering of a sovereign, democratic, social, legal state, development of an independent judiciary system, the works on law drafting 
    2. To support the promotion of the accreditations of members of the association and judges, their study, training and exchange of work experience, the provision of the independence, immunity and security of the judges, increase of their prestige, provision and fostering of the independence of the court and judicial power and increase of the level of society’s trust towards the court, organizing meetings and rest for the members of the association 
    3. Protect the association members’ legal interests and rights, honor and dignity as prescribed by law 
    4. Secure the maintenance of the rules of judge discipline 
    5. Support the provision of protection of human rights and freedoms 
    6. Cooperate with foreign and international associations of judges 
    7. Publish a periodical as prescribed by law, legal literature, publicize the experience of the association members, the activities of the court and judicial power. 

      The structural bodies of  Association of Judges are:

 

    1. The general assembly, which is the supreme body of the association governance 
    2. The Board, which runs the ongoing governance 
    3. The Chairman, who is simultaneously the chairman of the Board as well 
    4. Vice-Chairmen, who govern in their fields and in case of the Chairman’s absence, substitute him/her 
    5. The Executive Director of the Board, who implements the ongoing governance of the association 
    6. The Control Commission, which supervises the financial-economic activities of the association.
