COMMENTS BY THE GOVERNMENT OF EGYPT ON THE CONCLUDING OBSERVATIONS OF THE HUMAN RIGHTS COMMITTEE

Subject: The treatment of Egyptians suspected of terrorism abroad and expelled to Egypt (paragraph 16 (c) of the Committee's concluding observations)
The competent authorities have provided the following information:

1. The Egyptians expelled to Egypt were treated in accordance with the due process of law, having been presented to the prosecuting authorities directly upon their arrival in the country.

2. None of the persons concerned has filed a complaint about ill-treatment, even though Egyptian law allows such persons to lodge complaints with the prison authorities or the Department of Public Prosecutions.
