In May, in conjunction with Amnesty’s UDHR 50 Campaign, Body Shop stores in the U.S. and Canada will create “Action Stations” where customers can learn about defenders of human rights and have the opportunity to “make their mark for human rights.”

The stores will feature the case of Ngawang Sangdrol, a Buddhist Tibetan nun who is a prisoner of conscience. Customers will be invited to leave their thumbprints on a unique petition in support of Ngawang and human rights. They will also be asked to sign postcards to the Chinese Embassy, urging Ngawang Sangdrol’s immediate and unconditional release.
