New Search Appliances are Crawling 2007-08-27
We are in the process of installing a new Google Search Appliance. You may notice additional hits to your Web server from googlewb.oit.umn.edu and google90.oit.umn.edu as the new appliance and its failover twin crawl and index University Web content.
The new appliances run the same software as the current one, so there should be no operational differences. We plan on having a transparent upgrade to the new hardware in mid-September.
Search Results Problem Resolved 2007-03-22
The recent problem, which was causing caused incomplete search results, has been resolved.
Incomplete Search Results 2007-03-20
The Search Appliance has been returning increasingly incomplete search results for the past few days. We have a high-priority problem ticket open with Google Enterprise Support to investigate and resolve this issue as soon as possible.
Google XML Reference Updated 2007-03-20
If you have been using the Google XML Reference to look up query parameters, please note that the URL has changed to http://code.google.com/enterprise/documentation/xml_reference.html. The document is now called the Google Search Protocol Reference. We have updated the links within this Web site.
Software Upgrade, New Index 2007-01-11
We have updated the system software on the Search Appliance. This update fixes previous performance issues with public searches and Admin Console operations.
As part of the upgrade, the document index has been rebuilt. If your Web pages are no longer appearing in search results, please submit the URLs via our request form. Note that the Search Appliance (and other Web search engines) should automatically find your Web pages if they are linked from pages that are already in the index.
