Photo of the Lena roses

These roses are no joke

Lena (pictured), Ole, and Sven are three new roses developed by the U's Department of Horticultural Science. All three, resulting from crosses made in 1997, are "very low maintenance," says associate professor Stan Hokanson; they are cold hardy and can bloom repeatedly until early fall. Limited quantities are available at local nurseries. (Photo by Dave Hansen)
