Office for Fraternity & Sorority Life

For Parents

If you are not a fraternity or sorority member, you are probably wondering what being Greek is all about. If you are a fraternity or sorority member, you are probably wondering if being Greek is what it was, or if it is something completely different. Either way, don’t panic. We would be happy to answer any questions you may have, and we will do our best to make the process as easy as possible.

It is important that you, the parent, be educated about the enriching experience that your son or daughter will find by being involved in a fraternity or sorority at the University of Minnesota. You should feel free to ask questions and to help your student make a good decision.

The University Parent Program offers information and resources specifically for parents, including a frequently asked questions (FAQ) page regarding fraternities and sororities.
