Only collegiate staff can give permissions after the end of the second week of the term.

To add a class after the second week of the term, students need signed permission of the instructor and the COLLEGIATE Scholastic Committee. This is a long-standing policy that the Office of the Registrar enforces.

Instructors and academic departments must not use the "student specific approvals" panel in PeopleSoft after the end of the second week of the semester, because approvals entered on this panel override the deadline. Only college staff should use "student-specific approvals" after the end of the second week of the term,

Magic numbers exist only for the first two weeks of the term.

Then they disappear, never ever to reappear again for the remainder of the term. Students who register for a 7-week course in October don't need magic numbers.

The fall semester commencement date of December 23 is the date that appears on the students' diplomas.

The actual commencement event may occur on a different date. CLA's commencement event, for example, will occur on December 12.
