not quite right for you, we're happy to help. Change your
meal plan on-line at (https://rudi.reshalls.umn.edu/mealplanchange/ )
and for spring semester during the on-line Housing and Residential
Life reapplication process in December. (NOTE: You will need to log using your University Internet ID.)

I have food allergies/restrictions. What should I do to make sure I don't eat something I shouldn't?
If you are a student living in the residence halls, contact UDS' Health & Wellness
Coordinator, Laura Asrani, RD, LD. Laura will set up an appointment with you to
discuss your allergies/restrictions and review the UDS menus so you know what is safe for you
to eat. If you are not living in a residence hall, Laura can still help clarify which food
options are safe for you to eat. You can also ask the managers at any of our retail or
residential locations for assistance.

How do weekly meal plans work? |
The 10, 14 and 19 meals per week plans offer a set amount
of meals for the week. Meals do not carry over from week to
week. The meal week begins on Monday and ends on Sunday. Choose
well. Select the best plan for your lifestyle to maximize your
meal plan value. |
Where can I spend my FlexDine?
FlexDine
can be used at all residential
restaurants and campus
restaurants. Beginning fall 2008, FlexDine balances remaining on your U Card at the end of each semester will carry over to the following academic semester. |
I have a guest visiting me, can they eat with me?
If your meal plan comes with guest meals (and all residential meal plans do), you can use your guest meals to treat them to a meal in any of the residential restaurants. You can also use FlexDine
dollars to treat your guest at any of the residential
restaurants and campus
restaurants. |
Why can't I use a meal swipe for my guest to eat
with me?
Prices are based on one person (you) eating. Meals are only
available to the person assigned to the U Card. Meal plan costs
are calculated based on historical information about how many
meals the average student eats. Your meal plan costs are actually
not calculated assuming all meals will be eaten. You can use
your FlexDine to treat a guest to a meal in any of the residential
restaurants and campus
restaurants |
I paid a lot of money for my meal plan, why can't
I take meals out of the residential restaurants?
Your meal plan prices are calculated based on the average
cost of items consumed within the dining rooms. As a service,
UDS allows students the option of taking ice cream, frozen yogurt,
fruit, and cookies out of the restaurant seating area. If all
menued items were available for takeout, your meal plan prices
would be higher. |
I know that they're required but what is the upside
of residential meal plans?
University Dining Services residential restaurants offer an
all-you-care-to-eat program. Therefore, there is less need to
worry about budgeting FlexDine
dollars or where your next meal is coming from. The on campus
dining program for students in traditional residence halls also
supports the Housing and Residence Life mission to build community
spirit on campus and provide greater safety for residents. |
I used up all the FlexDine on my meal plan. Am I
out for the semester?
Not at all. You can add more FlexDine at Meal
Plans On-line. Each time you make a purchase
at a UDS location the cashier can give you your balance. FlexDine
can be added in $25 increments using cash, check, credit card,
or billed to your STARS account. Simply visit any UDS location,
or call 612-624-0558 for more information. |

Why doesn't UDS offer an all-declining balance meal
plan? |
University of Minnesota currently offers five traditional
meal plans and four enhanced plans with meals and FlexDine
combinations. UDS is partnering with the student advisory board
to determine meal plan options for the future. Currently, UDS
also offers a $300 FlexDine option that is available for commuters, faculty, staff,
or campus apartment students, as well as two Meals-Plus-FlexDine options designed specifically for non-residents. |
Can I have my meal plan/FlexDine order billed to my student account? |
Residential meal plans, those required by a U of MN housing contract, are automatically billed to your student account. Commuter students can have
meal plan/FlexDine purchases billed to their student account by selecting the "Invoice" option on Campus Dish, selecting the "Student Account " option when
ordering by mail or with a UDS manager, or by calling the meal plan office at 612-624-0558. |

in the residential restaurant? |

restaurant. Contact the administrative assistant at the residence
hall to review available dates and review content. To see a
