Technical Services

Technical Services designs, installs, maintains, and repairs security related systems on the University of Minnesota campus. Systems include burglar alarms, the central card access system, closed circuit television surveillance systems (CCTV), and the central alarm system within the Public Safety Emergency Communication Center.

An inventory of parts and equipment is also maintained for a timely response to departmental needs. Expertise in transmission systems including microwave, fiber optics, and computer networking insures a cost-effective security solution with reliability as our first priority.

Services Provided

Installation

Central Security’s technicians install closed-circuit television systems (CCTV); the video cameras seen across campus. Additionally, we install most alarm systems and card readers on the U of M campus.

Preventative Maintenance

From replacing your card reader batteries to ensuring the University’s cameras are clean and functioning properly, Central Security’s technicians strive to prevent system issues before they occur.

Repair

For security system malfunctions, Central Security's technicians are highly trained to troubleshoot and resolve camera, alarm, and card reader issues.
