How to Keep Your Access Active

Change Your Passwords according to Schedule
For most people who access Enterprise Systems and Reports, the following schedule applies:
X.500 ID with Enterprise Password - - Every 100 days.
Mainframe - - The "change your password" need is met for you, through a combination of your RACF/ Mainframe ID, plus SecurID Token P.I.N. (which changes every 60 seconds for the life of the card).

Hint: If you know that the system you are using requires that your password be changed every 90 or 100 days, schedule the password changes on your calendar.

Understand work-related conditions which can affect Your Access
    Changing departments.
    Changing jobs.
    Terminating employment with the University.
Going on a Leave of Absence of more than six weeks.
The first three conditions require that your current access be removed. The last condition requires that your access be temporarily suspended.

Hint: If you anticipate changing jobs or departments, be sure to discuss access needs for your new job as early as possible, as part of your job content discussions with your new Supervisor or Department Head. That way, a new Access Request Form can be initiated, training classes can be scheduled, and you will have the access you need in your new job as soon as possible.

Understand that Your X.500 ID is used for Enterprise Systems Access
If you are an Enterprise Systems or Reports user, your X.500 ID is much more than your e-mail name. Currently, your X.500 ID is your system identity for the Enterprise systems which use the University's Central Authentication Hub.

Hint: If you anticipate changing your X.500 ID, protect your Enterprise System and Reports access by contacting those who can help:
