How to Request Access to Data/System
As a member of the University community, you will automatically have access to a great deal of public information via the Web, using your X.500 (Internet) ID and password. If your job requires access to transaction systems or to not-Public data, you will need to request additional access.
Step 1 - Identify your access needs.
Talk to your Supervisor or Manager. They know what your job duties will be and can help you identify the attachments you will need for your Access Request form. Information about the systems/data (including training requirements) can be found on the Systems list description page.
Step 2 - Select your format
The Access Request Form (ARF) and attachments are available in either Word or PDF format.
Step 3 - The Access Request Form (ARF).
To request access you must complete the ARF. This document is used to provide demographic data related to you, the requester, a Statement of Business Need which explains how you will use the access being requested and provides space for both your signature and the signature of either your Supervisor or Department Head.
Step 3 - ARF attachments
You will find a number of attachments which allow you to request access to the variety of Enterprise Applications administered by OIT Data Security. The attachments have been grouped by; Student, HRMS, Financials and Other types of data. Select and complete the attachment(s) appropriate to the types of access you and your Supervisor
identified in step 1.
OIT Data Security will grant access upon submission of the ARF and attachment once applicable signature (authorization) and training requirements have been met.
If you have questions about completing your ARF or attachments, please contact the OIT Helpline at 1-Help (612-301-4357)
